Not a resort to shy away from showing its visitors a good time, Courchevel is not only renowned for its incredible skiing, but also for its events – dance parties on the piste, world cup racing and extravagant firework displays. And even better, you can join in the fun for free!
Here’s the lowdown on what our Christmas and New Year guests can expect in La Tania and Courchevel:
Guest arrivals 15th and 16th December 2018
Audi FIS Coupe du Monde 2018 Ladies Alpine Ski
- 21 and 22 December 2018
On 21st and 22nd December, Courchevel will welcome the world’s very best female alpine skiers, who will race down the ‘Stade’ piste in Courchevel 1850. If you’ve ever watched Ski Sunday, then you’ll know that being part of the crowds is a fantastic experience!
The Giant Slalom will take place on Friday 21st and the Slalom on Saturday 22nd. On both days the crowds will start to gather from 9am, with the heats commencing at 10.30am. The second round starts at 1.30pm, and the awards ceremony will take place at 2.15pm.

- Christmas in Courchevel
Expect a whole lot of magic in the winter wonderland that is Courchevel at Christmas! Of course, at Alpine Escape we pull out all the stops to make sure our Christmas chalet guests have a fabulous holiday, with our chefs creating food with the wow factor, including all the festive treats. Real Christmas trees, mince pies, Christmas cake, a full turkey roast with all the trimmings and plenty of fizz to keep the party in full swing!
‘Père Noël’ and his sleigh will be visiting all the villages in Courchevel as follows:
- 15h-15h30 in La Tania
- 16h-16h30 in Courchevel Le Praz
- 17h-17h30 in Courchevel Village
- 18h-18h30 in Courchevel Moriond
- 19h-19h30 in Courchevel
- See Father Christmas in La Tania: 10am – 1pm then 3pm – 6.30pm
La Tania will be transformed into a ‘Christmas Village’ and families can pay a visit to Father Christmas any time during the day. At 7pm there will be a fabulous torchlit descent from the local ESF instructors, followed by a fireworks display.
Thursday 27th December
- Night ski racing in 1850 from 5.30pm
If you finish your day skiing up in Courchevel 1850, then you’ll be able to watch the ladies’ night racing on the ‘stade’. Live DJs and food trucks will add to the party vibe! It’s easy to return back to your chalet using the free bus service.
Guest arrivals 29th and 30th December
- New Year’s Eve
How about seeing in 2019 dancing on the slopes? Courchevel’s annual party on the piste just has to be experienced if you’re in resort for New Year. Use the free buses to head up to 1850 and revel in the wild atmosphere. You can take your own drinks, dance to the live DJs and see the incredible fireworks at midnight.
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th January
This annual paragliding competition takes place in 8 ski resorts throughout the winter, and on 5/6th January it’s Courchevel’s turn to play host. The paragliders have various challenges to accomplish and watching them all fly over the white slopes together is a fantastic experience, not to mention a cracking photo opportunity! The best viewing spots are Piste M, Marquetty or around Bouc Blanc.
