FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions…

Here are some FAQs about Courchevel, our chalets and ski holidays

Alpine Escape Chalets

Chalets with hot tubs
  • Whatโ€™s included in the chalet?
See each individual chalet page for details of what is included in our catered and self-catered chalets.
  • What time is check-in and check-out?
Youโ€™ll be able to access the chalet from 16.00 on your arrival day, when youโ€™ll be welcomed by your host and a lovely cup of tea or a beer or glass of bubbly from the bar! On departure day we ask that guests vacate the chalet by 10.00 so that our team can clean and prepare the chalet for the following guests. If you donโ€™t need to leave resort until later, or wish to ski, then weโ€™re more than happy to look after your luggage in the chalet until you depart and our concierge can also book you a table for lunch in resort.

Travel to Courchevel

  • Is there car parking available at the chalets?
Yes, all our chalets, with the exception of Chalet Mollard, have free car parking spaces available.
  • Are flights and transfers included?
Our customers generally prefer to have the flexibility to choose their own regional departure airports, and to decide what flight times suit their group best, so flight prices are not included in the chalet price.
  • How do I get to the chalet from the airport or railway station?
With AE Transfers! Our sister company offers return private transfers at a very competitive rate. The professional driver will meet you in arrivals and take you directly to the chalet where your host will be awaiting your arrival.

Catering and Shopping

Self-catered Chalet - The Loft Courchevel Moriond
  • One of my group is vegetarian/dairy-free/wheat intolerant, will they have anything to eat?
Of course! In our catered chalets we often look after guests who have dietary requirements, and our chefs are more than happy to adapt their menu to include alternatives. The more information you can supply, the better, so when you are adding your details into our booking system, you can make any relevant notes about menu requirements for each person. We can get hold of dairy-free milk and yoghurts, and can often provide wheat-free products from nearby health shops. If you have a specific enquiry, please do ask โ€“ weโ€™re here to help.
  • Iโ€™m staying in a self-catered chalet, where are the nearest and best shops?
La Tania, Courchevel Le Praz and Moriond have small supermarkets which are good for essentials, basic meals, drinks and snacks. You could also take advantage of the Alpine Escape supermarket shop and delivery service. We will even unpack it and put it away for you! There is a โ‚ฌ40.00 charge for this service. We purchase your requested items for you at off-mountain prices which is a significant saving compared to the local supermarket.

Families and Childcare

Family Skiing Courchevel
  • Iโ€™m travelling with a baby, do you have any cots?
Yes! We provide a cot and bedding at no extra cost (but itโ€™s a good idea to bring your own teddy!) We also supply a highchair if required and can provide whatever food your baby will enjoy. Just let us know in advance and everything will be ready and waiting when you arrive. You can also reserve a child car seat on our transfers if you let us know when you book.
  • Do you offer childcare or babysitting?
We can put you in touch with a professional childcare provider who can offer full time, part time or babysitting services for children and babies.
  • Can you recommend a ski school?
Yes, we have lots of great ski schools in Courchevel. Ask our pre-holiday concierge for information when you book, or read more on ski schools here.
  • What food do you provide for children in the catered chalets?
We offer a children’s tea earlier than the 4-course evening meal, so that the grown-ups can relax and enjoy some adult time! Let us know your children’s preferences when you book and we’ll make sure they have something healthy and filling.

Skiing Courchevel & La Tania

  • How do I get my lift passes?
If you book your lift passes through Alpine Escape we offer free delivery, so theyโ€™ll be ready and waiting for you when you arrive โ€“ itโ€™s all part of the service. You can pay us in resort in euros cash or credit card once you arrive.
  • Where can I hire skis from?
In each of our resorts we can offer a mobile ski hire delivery service through one of our partners, so you neednโ€™t even leave the chalet! You can book this mobile service in advance and benefit from a 20% discount through Alpine Escape. If you choose to visit the Ski Higher or White Storm shops rather than use the mobile service then the Alpine Escape discount is 30% off advertised prices.
  • Whatโ€™s the snow like?
The eternal question! The Three Valleys guarantees that while the lifts are open, youโ€™ll have access to the largest number of connected lifts available in Europe! If youโ€™re travelling in a particularly sunny week then never fear โ€“ the snowmaking equipment in Courchevel and the Three Valleys is excellent, as is the grooming of the pistes, so youโ€™ll have access to plenty of skiing.

Getting Around

  • How do we get to and from the ski slopes/lifts?
It depends on the chalet. Some of our catered and self-catererd chalets are ski-in, ski-out, or are right next to one of the pistes (see individual chalets for details) and in other chalets we offer an all-day, in-resortย shuttle service within resort, so you just need to give the duty driver a call if youโ€™d like picking up from the slopes or the bar!
  • How do I get a taxi to Meribel?
Ask our concierge who can book a taxi for you. Our guests often need a lift back from one of the apres bars in Meribel, so it’s no problem to organise a taxi service, just let us know.
  • Are there buses between Courchevel’s resorts?
Yes, there’s a free bus service for getting between La Tania, Courchevel Le Praz, Courchevel Village (1550), Moriond (1650) and 1850.
  • What activities do you recommend and how do we get there?
We have lots of recommendations for apres-ski activities and things for non-skiers to do. Our concierge can help advise on how to get to and from each individual activity, all you need to do is ask!
