BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL BOOKINGS MADE FROM 6TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TO JANUARY 14TH 2022

Please read the below carefully before you book as you and every person in your booking will be bound by these terms and conditions:

The Self-Catered and Catered Chaletsย  featured on this website (web : alpine-escape.co.uk) are offered for sale by Alpine Escape Ski Ltdย  (referred to โ€œAlpine Escapeโ€).ย  Registered Office address 264 High Street, Beckenham, United Kingdom BR3 1DZ.

These booking terms and conditions (Booking Conditions) will apply to all Bookings and will govern your contractual relationship with Alpine Escape. Please note that any of your bookings with Alpine Escape is not a Package Holiday or a Linked Travel Arrangement as defined under The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 and therefore you do not have the protection offered under this Regulation. It is therefore important that you ensure that you have adequate insurance protection cover for your booking.

Where we refer to you, your, we are referring to all persons named in your Booking (including anyone who is added or substituted at a later stage). When reference is made to we, our and us this is Alpine Escape.

1.0 CONTRACT

1.1 Your contract for your Self-Catered or Catered Chalet is with Alpine Escape. The person making the booking and contracting with us will be the Lead Name who must be 18 years old at the time of booking and possess the legal capacity and authority to enter into a legally binding contract and accept these Booking Conditions as binding on the Booking Group. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

1.2 The Lead Name is the only person able to make changes, amendments and cancellations and is responsible to provide the correct information relating to every person in the Booking Group and provide all information relating to the Booking (including any changes to it) to all persons in the Booking Group. The Lead Name will be personally responsible and liable for all monies outstanding from the remainder of the persons in the group.

 

2.0 PRICES

2.1 The prices we advertise are correct at the date of publication. We reserve the right to change or correct errors in both advertised and confirmed prices (both before and after the Confirmation Invoice has been issued). Before you make a Booking, we will give you the up to date price including the cost of any supplements, upgrades or additional facilities which you have requested.

2.2 The prices stated on our website are in Pounds Sterling and are for one-week (7 nights) accommodation. Please refer to your booking confirmation email as to what catered or self-catered services are included in your holiday.

2.3 Prices do not include travel, holiday and medical insurance, ski pass, childcare, equipment hire, ski lessons and lunches.

 

3.0 MAKING A BOOKING AND PAYMENT

3.1 When you have chosen your accommodation and you make a request to us to book it, you must pay a deposit of 25% of the total chalet price or the full cost of the booking if you are booking within 10 weeks of your arrival date.

3.2 All accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking. Once availability has been confirmed by Alpine Escape a booking will be held for three days, pending receipt of the appropriate deposit by bank transfer in Pounds Sterling (25% of total chalet price) and completed booking form.

3.3 For all self-catered chalet bookings we require a pre-authorised damage deposit (we will secure the amount but not take it from your account) of โ‚ฌ1000.00 against breakages and damage to the property and its contents, Chalet White requires a pre-authorised damage deposit of โ‚ฌ5.000.00. After inspection of the chalet the pre-authorisation will be cancelled upon satisfactory checkout or appropriate deduction made from the pre-authorised damage deposit for any damage done by you or any member of your group.

3.4 Once your Booking is made and the correct deposit received, we will send the Lead Name a Confirmation Invoice whereupon a contract for the accommodation specified in that Confirmation Invoice will come into existence between you and us.

3.5 The chalets must be taken on a whole chalet booking basis only (part bookings may only be accepted at the discretion of Alpine Escape).

3.6 If for any reason part of the group cancels, the whole chalet booking price still stands and must be paid by the Lead Name. If the Lead Name does not wish to pay the whole chalet price the chalet booking will be deemed cancelled and cancellation charges as set out in these terms and conditions will apply for the whole chalet. Alpine Escape then also reserves the right to re-sell the holiday without further notification.

3.7 Alpine Escape also reserves the right to have other parties stay in the chalet unless the whole chalet is taken or paid for.

3.8 Any persons not booked into an Alpine Escape chalet can only visit you with prior notification and permission of chalet staff, with chalet staff being present at all times.

3.9 Guests of Alpine Escape bookings should also adhere to the terms and conditions of the chalet laid out in the chalet information pack either in chalet or emailed to lead name prior to arrival and it is your obligation to bring these to their attention when they arrive.

3.10 If we are unable to confirm some of the arrangements comprised in your booking straight away, we may still issue a Confirmation Invoice but a contract for arrangements that have not been confirmed will only be made when we have sent you written confirmation that those arrangements have been confirmed. If there is any change to your Booking before the Confirmation Invoice is issued, we will notify you promptly of any new or changed details, including a change to the price (if any). If any detail on the Confirmation Invoice is not correct, please tell us immediately. If there is an obvious error on the Confirmation Invoice we reserve the right to correct it as soon as we become aware of it, but we will aim to do this within 7 days of issuing the Confirmation Invoice or, if your departure is within 7 days, no later than 24 hours before you go. If any of these changes are not acceptable then you will be entitled to a full refund.

3.11 The Confirmation Invoice shall detail the total cost due, sums already paid and reconfirming the date any balance is due to be paid prior to departure.

3.12 If we have not received any sums due by the due date as specified in our Confirmation Invoice, we reserve the right to treat your Booking as cancelled by you and Alpine Escape reserves the right in these circumstances to re-book the week with another client without notification.

3.13 Every effort will be made to contact you to remind you of payment dates, but the onus is also on you as the Lead Name to ensure that all payments due are made on time.ย  Failure to pay the deposit will result in the booking being cancelled. Failure to pay any other sum due will result in the deposit being forfeited by way of cancellation charges which are set out below.

3.14 Preferred payment types are as follows: Bank Transfer (any charge for which to be incurred by the client) and Debit card which include the following: Visa debit, Mastercard Debit, Visa electron and Maestro. If you would like to pay by credit card then please contact Alpine Escape directly and we can process your Credit card payment in euros through our PAYBOX merchant service in France. Any fluctuations in currency between euro payments when converted back to pounds sterling must be absorbed by you.

3.15 Card payments for holiday balances are taken in pounds sterling through our WORLDPAY merchant service. There is no charge for debit or Credit card payments either for holiday payments, lift passes and any costs incurred whilst on holiday. Lift passes and other costs incurred in France are taken in Euros through our PAYBOX merchant service in France, Any fluctuations in currency between euro payments when converted back to pounds sterling must be absorbed by you.

 

4.0 IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR BOOKING

4.1 If, after we have issued your Confirmation Invoice, you wish to alter your Booking in any way, the Lead Name must make a written request to us for consideration quoting your booking reference. This should be received in writing to Alpine Escape Ski Ltd. Apt 9 Batiment Le duy, Residences du Lac, Bozel, 73350, France, or by e-mail: info@alpine-escape.co.uk, or Tel : +44 1303 766 558

4.2 Any amendment agreed by us will be subject to availability and costs and an amendment fee will also be charged. Before we accept any amendment, we shall advise the Lead Name if there are any further charges to be paid. These charges shall be paid on confirmation of the amended Booking. No changes are allowed from a full price Booking to a special or other promotional offer. If you change the number in your party, the accommodation price may be re-calculated if you are booked into a catered chalet. If the party size is reduced, this is likely to mean the remaining members paying more due to under-occupancy, which will be paid by the Lead Name on their behalf.

 

5.0 IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL YOUR BOOKING

5.1 The person that made the booking must put this in writing to Alpine Escape Ski Ltd. Apt 9 Batiment Le duy, Residences du Lac, Bozel, 73350, France, or e-mail: info@alpine-escape.co.uk, Tel : +44 1303 766 558. Because we incur costs in cancelling confirmed bookings, particularly if cancellations occur close to arrival date, you will be charged a cancellation fee. Please see our cancellation charges below.

5.2 Cancellation fees: If you cancel (this is the date on which we receive your written notice of cancellation during the hours of 9am to 5pm GMT):

5.3 Charges are shown as a percentage of your accommodation cost (excluding amendment fees, if any, which are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation). The following charges apply:

Weeks prior to Commencement of your Ski Holiday:

More than 10 weeksย  –ย  Loss of Deposit only

Within 8 weeksย  –ย  50% of total price

Within 6 weeksย  ย –ย  75% of total price

Within 4 weeksย  ย –ย  100% of total price

Non receipt of the balance of the cost of the holiday will not be taken as notification of cancellation; clients will still be liable for cancellation charges as shown above if they subsequently cancel the holiday.

 

6.0 IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR ACCOMMODATION

We may occasionally have to make changes or cancel your booking and we reserve the right to do so at any time.

6.1 Changes

If we make a major change to your accommodation booking, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of accepting the change of accommodation, or you can take any alternative accommodation we are able to offer you (you will pay the increase in cost if the replacement is advertised at a higher price than your original booking, or receive a refund of the difference if it is less expensive), or a refund of the money youโ€™ve paid to us. These options donโ€™t apply for minor changes. Examples of minor changes include, but are not limited to, change of accommodation to another of the same or higher standard.

6.2 Cancellation

We will not cancel your accommodation less than two weeks before your departure date, except for reasons of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. If your accommodation is cancelled you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative accommodation of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value). Any amendment or cancellation fees you incur in terms of other arrangements you have made with other providers under separate contracts are not claimable from us.

6.3 Unavoidable and Extraordinary Circumstances which means a situation beyond the control of Alpine Escape or the relevant supplier which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken including (without limitation) serious technical or security problems, war or threat of war, terrorist activity or the threat of terrorist activity, riots, civil commotion, disaster, Act of God, nuclear event or disaster, natural disasters such as fire, floods or earthquakes, closure of airports, ports, strikes or other industrial action, incidents of serious infectious or other diseases, pandemics, medical problems or illnesses, which make it impossible to perform the contract. In such circumstances no compensation, costs, expenses or any other sums, including the cost of securing alternative accommodation will be paid by us.

7.0 INSURANCE

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured. We strongly recommend that you take out insurance, which should include cover against the cost of cancellation by you and assistance (including repatriation) in the event of accident or illness or because of Unavoidable and Extraordinary circumstances whilst you are on holiday.

7.1 Your holiday insurance must at least include the following:

  • Emergency Medical Expenses including, amongst other costs; mountain rescue, ambulance charges and repatriation
  • Cancellation of your trip or Curtailment (cutting short your trip)
  • Personal Liability to include, amongst other liabilities; damage caused by your negligence to the property in which you are staying and may not include a clause which restricts actions being taken against a travelling companion other than family
  • Travel and transfer delays which must include amongst other costs; additional costs incurred in the event of a delay beyond your or our control
  • The policy must include the activities you are likely to do and in particular off piste skiing with or without a guide (it is possible to ski off piste inadvertently)

In the event that you fail to obtain suitable Winter sports Insurance we shall not be liable for any costs incurred or claims made against us due to your failure to comply with this term.

 

8.0 OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR BOOKING

For claims not involving personal injury, death or illness, any liability which we may incur for the negligent acts and/or omissions of our suppliers shall be limited in total to a maximum of the price which you paid for your Booking, excluding insurance premiums and administration charges.

We also have no liability in the following situations:

  • where you incur any loss or damage that relates to any business activity.
  • where any loss or damage relates to any services which do not form part of our contract with you, and under no circumstances extends to the additional costs incurred by you in taking the holiday such as travel to and from the resort, pre-booked services, tuition or ski passes.

 

9.0 CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUTย 

The chalets will be available to incoming guests after 4pm on day of arrival, although we will endeavour to have the chalet ready earlier only if previously requested for and agreed by Alpine Escape. The chalet must be vacated on day of departure by 10am.

 

10.0 BEHAVIOURย 

10.1 When you book a Chalet through us, you accept responsibility for the proper conduct of all members of your party during your stay. If you cause damage to the accommodation in which you are staying, you must fully reimburse Alpine Escape for the cost of the damage before the end of your stay if the cost has been established by then or as soon as it has been established if later. You must also indemnify us for the full amount of any claim (including all legal costs) made against us by the accommodation provider or any third party as a result.ย  We reserve the right at any time to terminate the stay of any party member(s) whose behaviour is such, in the reasonable opinion of the accommodation provider or us, as to cause or to be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to anyone else or damage to property, the local residents or have a negative effect on the reputation of Alpine Escape or is/are suffering from a contagious disease, we will be entitled to terminate your Holiday.

10.2 Furthermore, we shall be under no obligation whatsoever to pay compensation or meet any costs or expenses (including but not limited to alternative accommodation) you may incur as a result of your stay being terminated. You will be responsible for making full payment for any damage or loss caused by you or any member of your Booking Group during your time away.

 

11.0 HOT TUB

11.1 You should adhere to the rules and regulations regarding the outside hot tub, a full description of these can be found in the chalet information pack upon arrival at the chalet. Due to health and safety guidelines children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the hot tub and children between the ages of 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult.

11.2 Alpine Escape reserves the right to carry out any maintenance and draining/ refilling needed that might render the hot tub unusable to ensure all health and safety regulations are met.

11.3 Disruptions to usage, despite a full maintenance program including unavoidable repairs will be made asap and such we are not liable for compensation.

 

12.0 LOST AND STOLEN PROPERTY

12.1 In the event that you lose or leave items in the chalet, no responsibility will be accepted if the property is not recovered or returned.

12.2 Alpine Escape cannot accept any responsibility for theft either from the chalet or at any other time during your holiday.

12.3 Where you or any member of your booking does not properly secure the exits and windows after leaving the chalet will be liable to any property taken as a result of that negligence.

12.4 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary elsewhere in these Booking Terms and Conditions, Alpine Escape shall not in any circumstances be liable to you or your Booking Party for any loss or anticipated loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of use, loss of contract or other opportunity nor for any other consequential or indirect loss or damage of a similar nature.ย  For claims not involving personal injury, death or illness, any liability Alpine Escape may incur for the negligent acts and/or omissions of its suppliers shall be limited to a maximum of the price which you paid for the Contract not including insurance premiums and administration charges. Alpine Escape will not at any time be liable for any loss of or damage to valuables of any nature.

 

13.0 OUTDOOR SHOES

Please include slippers/indoor shoes as part of your packing as outdoor footwear is not worn in the chalets.

 

14.0 SMOKING

For health and safety reasons smoking is strictly prohibited within the chalets.

 

15.0 CHILDREN

No matter how much care is taken skiing chalets are not child proof. We will not be held responsible for any accidents occurring within the chalets, it is the parentโ€™s responsibility to ensure their children are supervised at all times.

 

16.0 DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

You must inform Alpine Escape in writing of any special dietary requirements either in relation to you or any party member of your booking before your holiday commences.

17.0 DATA PROTECTIONย 

17.1 In order to process your booking and to ensure that your travel arrangements run smoothly and that Alpine Escape comply with its legal obligations to perform its contract with you Alpine Escape requires you to provide personal data relating to all persons travelling on the booking, including children (data subjects).ย  Alpine Escape shall collect such personal data in accordance with its privacy and data protection policies as stated in point 17.2 below, in accordance with relevant data protection laws including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 which applies from 25 May 2018 in the European Union.

17.2 When you book accommodation with Alpine Escape, the personal data you provide is held on a secure external bookings system. We use this information to enable us to provide you with the services outlined on this website, and to easily facilitate future bookings. Your email address is also held within a secure database management system which we use to contact you with news, enabling you, as a valued customer, to benefit from advance knowledge of special offers and new properties within our programme. We do not share your information with any exterior companies. Should you wish us to remove your personal information from our secure systems, please contact us and we will effectuate your request.

17.3 Personal data means any data relating to the data subject, such as name, e-mail, postal address, date of birth, nationality, passport or ID number, bank or credit card details, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying the Guests, data concerning health for the purposes of monitoring and alert purposes, the prevention or control of communicable diseases and other serious threats to health, including any special needs/dietary requirements, name and communication details of a person to contact in case of an emergency Special category of data includes racial or ethnic origin and religious beliefs.

17.4 In accordance with its policies Alpine Escape shall only seek such personal data as is necessary to comply with its legal obligations (for example immigration and governmental requests) or to perform its contract with you. Such personal data that you shall provide to Alpine Escape may be stored, used, disclosed by transmission or otherwise made available to other suppliers or third parties in order to enable Alpine Escape to perform different parts of its contract with you. Alpine Escape will only process any data about you that is relevant and necessary and where Alpine Escape is required to pass the information on. Your personal data may be required and provided to security or credit checking companies, public authorities such as customs/immigration or as required by law.

17.5 Alpine Escape will take full responsibility for ensuring that proper security measures are in place to protect your personal data, including the security measures of any company or person processing your personal data on Alpine Escapeโ€™s behalf.

17.6 Alpine Escape will not pass any of your personal/special category data onto any person who is not responsible for any part of your contract with us and the request for the personal/ special category data is not necessary for the performance of your contract with Alpine Escape. Alpine Escape will retain yourย  personal data in its archived system for up to 7 years from the last use of such personal data to allow Alpine Escape to comply with its legalย  obligations relating toย  the bookings and for the additional purpose of defending any legal action brought against Alpine Escape in relation to your contract with Alpine Escape.ย  Alpine Escape will only keep your personal data for as long as it is necessary or is required by law.

17.7 You areย  entitled to seek access to personal data held by Alpine Escape in accordance with Alpine Escapeโ€™s policies and to ask Alpine Escapeย  to rectify any inaccurate personal data concerning you or to delete special category of personal data subject to the policy and any legal basis on which you may object.ย  You may obtain a copy of the personal information held about yourself by contacting Alpine Escape Ski- Apt 9 Batiment Le duy, Residences du Lac, Bozel, 73350, France, e-mail: info@alpine-escape.co.uk, Tel : +44 1303 766 558. It is your responsibility to make sure that information which Alpine Escape holds for you and your Booking Party is up-to-date and accurate.

 

18.0 THIRD PARTY ACTIVITIES

18.1 Alpine Escape can assist in sourcing and booking many of the extra services you need when on a winter holiday. Alpine Escape will endeavour to deal with only reputable and competent local suppliers. However, your contract for these services are directly with the third party providers of these services and are subject to the terms and conditions of the individual companies, and our help does not constitute an approval and we take no responsibility or liability for the service. These third party suppliers terms and conditions may limit or exclude liability of the supplier. Any grievance with a third party service should be taken up with the provider and yourself directly. In the event of a complaint by you or your Booking Party, your Contract with the third party supplies will be regarded as having been performed if local laws and regulations relating to those services have been satisfied, even if the laws of England and Wales have not been met. Local laws and regulations of the relevant country will be relevant in assessing performance of the services of any supplier

18.2 The limitations referred to herein shall apply to all independent contractors.ย  These contractors work directly for you or your Booking Party when performing their services. Alpine Escape is not responsible for any such contractorโ€™s acts or omissions in providing goods or services to you or your Booking Party. Such third party suppliers or any independent contractors instructed by them on your behalf, do not at any time act as agents or representatives of Alpine Escape.ย  Alpine Escape makes no representation of any kind as to their performance and does not undertake to supervise or control their activities.ย  If you are using the services or activities of such independent contractors you shall be deemed to agree and consent that any liability for any death, personal injury, illness, emotional distress, mental suffering or psychological injury to you or loss of or damage to property shall be the sole responsibility of the independent contractor providing such service or activity.ย  Alpine Escape shall not be or become liable or responsible in any way for any act or omission of any such independent contractors pertaining to, or arising from, or in connection with, such services or activities.

 

19.0 COMPLAINTS

19.1 If you have a complaint about your accommodation whilst away, you must immediately notify us in resort by contacting the concierge team on +33 768 000 813

19.2 If you fail to follow this simple procedure we will have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst you were in resort and this may affect your rights under this contract. Please bear in mind that we are only liable to compensate you in line with these booking conditions If you are still not satisfied on your return home, you must write to us within 28 days of your return, providing all other relevant information to allow us to investigate your complaint properly. Any correspondence regarding your Booking should be sent to Alpine Escape Ski Ltd- Apt 9 Batiment Le duy, Residences du Lac, Bozel, 73350, France e-mail : neil@alpine-escape.co.uk, Tel : +44 1303 766 558.ย  quoting your Booking reference.

19.3 If you do not give us the opportunity to resolve any problem locally by reporting it to us, or calling and informing us, then we may not be able to deal with any complaint on your return.

19.4 Any dispute or claim arising out of this contract that can’t be settled between us can be referred by you to the courts in England. We agree that the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction and that English law shall apply to any court action commenced.

 

20.0 ALPINE ESCAPE FLEXIBLE COVID-19 POLICY

The following promise Conditions are supplementary to and do not replace (unless where stated) the terms and conditions stated above.

20.1 If you cannot travel due to the Covid-19 reasons listed below on the date of your departure to your Alpine Escape chalet (see detailed list below) we will refund your balance back into your account and convert your 25% deposit to a voucher to be used at anytime over the next three winter seasons.

20.2 The following Covid-19 reasons include:

  • If the borders between your departure country and destination are closed or are denying entry
  • If you are required to quarantine upon arrival in France
  • If you are required to quarantine upon return to the country you are travelling from
  • If the FCDO (foreign, commonwealth & development office) advise against travel (including non-essential travel to France)
  • If the chalet you have booked to has been forced to close due the effects of covid-19 by local or national government restrictions
  • Our guarantee is available to all bookings made for this winter season including booking made prior to March 2020
  • The guarantee is for whole chalet bookings only and the agreement is with the lead booking name only
  • The voucher is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be split
  • Please note… the above Covid-19 related reasons must be in place at the time your booking is due to take place

20.3 Any booking made directly with Alpine Escape which is set to commence before the 30th April 2022 are valid. After arrival you will need to consult our booking terms and conditions set out above and then contact your holiday insurance provider if your holiday is subsequently affected by Covid-19.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL BOOKINGS MADE UP UNTIL THE 6TH SEPTEMBER 2020

1.0 AGREEMENT

1.1 The terms and conditions of this document comprise the agreement between Alpine Escape and all those listed on the holiday booking, on whose behalf the group leader is responsible for.

1.2 โ€œThe groupโ€ refers to all persons booked to stay in the accommodation listed on the booking and also includes any subsequent changes of names to the original booking.

2.0 BOOKING AND DEPOSIT

2.1 Once availability has been confirmed by Alpine Escape a booking will be held for three days, pending receipt of the appropriate deposit by bank transfer in Pounds Sterling (25% of total chalet price) and completed booking form.

2.2 Thereafter if no deposit has been received the booking will be deemed cancelled and Alpine Escape reserves the right to re-book the week without notification.

2.3 The total amount outstanding on your holiday must be paid no later than nine weeks from departure, therefore if you have booked within this limit the full balance will be payable. Balances can be paid by bank transfer, or by card.

2.4 The first name entered on the booking will be deemed to be Group Leader thus he/she will be personally liable for all monies outstanding from the remainder of the guests.

2.5 For all self-catered chalet bookings we require a pre-authorised damage deposit (we will secure the amount but not take it from your account) of โ‚ฌ1000.00 against breakages and damage to the property and its contents. After inspection of the chalet the pre-authorisation will be cancelled upon satisfactory checkout.

2.6 Holiday deposits and full balances are non-transferable or refundable.

3.0 PRICES

3.1 The prices stated on our website are in Pounds Sterling, and are for one week (7 nights) accommodation and include dinner and drinks on 5 nights plus 1 evening pre-prepared dinner and breakfast and afternoon tea on 7 days. On one of the two chalet staff nights off guests are required to eat out and there is no provision of food or drink in the chalet. Clients are kindly asked not to cook for themselves. Prices do not include travel, holiday and medical insurance, ski pass, childcare, equipment hire, ski lessons and lunches.

3.2 Alpine Escape guarantees the price of the holiday as quoted at the time of booking and reserves the right to increase or decrease the price of unsold holidays at any time.

4.0 PAYMENT

4.1 The balance of your holiday will be due nine weeks before departure. If the final balance is not received within these times we reserve the right to cancel the booking and any deposits paid will be forfeited. Alpine Escape then reserves the right to re-book the chalet without further notice.

4.2 Every effort will be made to contact the client to remind them of payment dates.

4.3 Preferred payment types are as follows: Bank Transfer (any charge for which to be incurred by the client) and Debit card which include the following: Visa debit, Mastercard Debit, Visa electron and Maestro. If you would like to pay by credit card then please contact Alpine Escape directly and we can process your Credit card payment in euros through our PAYBOX merchant service in France. Any fluctuations in currency between euro payments when converted back to pounds sterling must be absorbed by the client.

4.4 Card payments for holiday balances are taken in pounds sterling through our WORLDPAY merchant service. There is no charge for debit or Credit card payments either for holiday payments, lift passes and any costs incurred whilst on holiday. Lift passes and other costs incurred in France are taken in Euros through our PAYBOX merchant service in France, Any fluctuations in currency between euro payments when converted back to pounds sterling must be absorbed by the client.

5.0 REFUND POLICY- CANCELLATION BY ALPINE ESCAPE

5.1 If through circumstances beyond our control Alpine Escape is forced to cancel your holiday a full refund is payable. This does not include events amounting to Force Majeure (Force Majeure meaning war, political unrest, weather, strikes, acts of God, epidemics, riots, civil strife, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural or technical disasters) or unless the client defaults in the payment of the final balance of the holiday cost.

6.0 REFUND POLICY โ€“ CANCELLATION BY CUSTOMER

6.1 You, or any member of your party, may cancel your holiday at any time providing that the cancellation is made by the person on the booking form in writing.

6.2 Alpine Escape takes no responsibility for non-delivery or non-receipt of the written cancellation.

6.3 The following charges apply: More than nine weeks before arrival: deposit. Within nine weeks of arrival: 100% total amount.

6.4 Non receipt of the balance of the cost of the holiday will not be taken as notification of cancellation; clients will still be liable for cancellation charges as shown above if they subsequently cancel the holiday.

7.0 LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

With the exception of death or personal injury of guests, Alpine Escapeโ€™s liability is limited to the invoiced holiday cost and under no circumstances extends to the additional costs incurred by guests in taking the holiday such as travel to and from the resort, pre-booked services, tuition or ski passes.

8.0 WHOLE CHALET AND GROUP BOOKING

8.1 The chalets must be taken on a whole chalet booking basis only (part bookings may only be accepted at the discretion of Alpine Escape).

8.2 If for any reason part of the group cancels, the whole chalet booking price still stands and must be paid by the remaining client. If the client does not wish to pay the whole chalet price the chalet booking will be deemed cancelled and cancellation charges as set out in these terms and conditions will apply for the whole chalet. Alpine Escape then also reserves the right to re-sell the holiday without further notification.

8.3 Alpine Escape also reserves the right to have other parties stay in the chalet unless the whole chalet is taken or paid for.

9.0 RESPONSIBILITY AND BEHAVIOUR

9.1 Alpine Escape reserve the right to deal with or settle any such claim as we in our absolute discretion think fit should any damages occur to any of the chalets and their contents including the outdoor furniture and hot tub during the stay of the customer by way of instant cash settlement for the said damaged goods.

9.2 All guests should act and behave in such a manner as to not affect or disrupt the enjoyment of other guests in any of the chalets, the local residents or have a negative effect on the reputation of Alpine Escape.

9.3 Any persons not booked into an Alpine Escape chalet can only visit guests with prior notification and permission of chalet staff, with chalet staff being present at all times.

9.4 Guests of Alpine Escape clients should also adhere to the terms and conditions of the chalet.

9.5 The holiday of any client that is in breach of the terms and conditions may have their holiday and Alpine Escapeโ€™s responsibility to them terminated immediately.

10.0 HOT TUB

10.1 Guests should adhere to the rules and regulations regarding the outside hot tub, a full description of these can be found in the chalet information pack upon arrival at the chalet.

10.2 Due to health and safety guidelines children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the hot tub and children between the ages of 12-17 must be accompanied by an adult.

10.3 Alpine Escape reserves the right to carry out any maintenance and draining/ refilling needed that might render the hot tub unusable to ensure all health and safety regulations are met.

11.0 THIRD PARTY ACTIVITIES

11.1 Alpine Escape can assist in sourcing and booking many of the extra services you need when on a winter holiday, these services are subject to the terms and conditions of the individual companies and our help does not constitute an approval and we take no responsibility or liability for the service.

11.2 Any grievance with a third party service should be taken up with the provider and client directly.

12.0 LOST AND STOLEN PROPERTY

12.1 In the event that guests lose or leave items in the chalet, no responsibility will be accepted if the property is not recovered or returned.

12.2 Alpine Escape cannot accept any responsibility for theft either from the chalet or at any other time during your holiday.

12.3 Any client not properly securing the exits and windows after leaving the chalet will be liable to any property taken as a result of that negligence.

13.0 ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE TIMES

13.1 The chalets will be available to incoming guests after 3pm on day of arrival, although we will endeavour to have the chalet ready earlier only if previously requested for and agreed by Alpine Escape.

13.2 The chalet must be vacated on day of departure by 10am.

14.0 OUTDOOR SHOES

14.1 Please include slippers/indoor shoes as part of your packing as outdoor footwear is not worn in the chalets.

15.0 SMOKING
15.1 For health and safety reasons smoking is strictly prohibited within the chalets.

16.0 CHILDREN

16.1 No matter how much care is taken skiing chalets are not child proof. We will not be held responsible for any accidents occurring within the chalets, it is the parentโ€™s responsibility to ensure their children are supervised at all times.

17.0 DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
17.1 Guests must inform Alpine Escape of any special dietary requirements before their holiday commences.

18.0 TRAVEL INSURANCE

Skiing can be a dangerous pursuit both on and off piste, therefore you MUST be fully insured before partaking in a skiing holiday and we will therefore need evidence of this upon arriving at the chalet. 19.0 PRIVACY POLICY AND GDPR

When you book accommodation with Alpine Escape, the personal data you provide is held on a secure external bookings system. We use this information to enable us to provide you with the services outlined on this website, and to easily facilitate future bookings. Your email address is also held within a secure database management system which we use to contact you with news, enabling you, as a valued customer, to benefit from advance knowledge of special offers and new properties within our programme. We do not share your information with any exterior companies. Should you wish us to remove your personal information from our secure systems, please contact us and we will effectuate your request.

TERMS OF CONTRACT

The contract is made on the terms of these booking conditions, governed by English Law. Both parties shall submit to the jurisdiction of English Courts at all times.
